Getting started

What does Bandee do?

Give Bandee a song and it listens to the whole recording: it separates the vocals, drums, bass, and other instruments into parts you can mute or solo, maps the sections — verse, chorus, bridge — with exact bar counts, finds the key and tempo, and lines up the lyrics. Your whole band studies the same chart, so everyone has heard their part before rehearsal starts.

How long does charting take?

Usually under a minute. If Bandee has heard the recording before, a few seconds.

What can I add?

Audio files (MP3, WAV, M4A, and most other formats) or a YouTube link — either way, Bandee listens to the recording and builds the same chart.

Do songs work offline?

Songs already on your phone play without internet — parts, chart, lyrics and all. You need a connection to add new songs and for band features like setlists and chat.

Can I use one account on iPhone and Android?

Yes, as long as you sign in the same way on both. Your account is tied to the sign-in you used first: Google, Apple or email. Signing in a different way creates a new, empty account. Google works on both iPhone and Android, so one Gmail address everywhere is the simplest choice. Sign in with Apple exists only on iPhone and iPad. If you use it, choose Share My Email when Apple asks; then Continue with Google on Android with that same address opens the same account. If you chose Hide My Email, Android cannot reach that account.

A new device asks me to set up my profile again.

That screen only appears for an account that has no profile yet, so the new device is signed in to a different account, usually because you used a different sign-in method than before (Apple on one device, Google on the other). Do not finish the setup. Delete and reinstall Bandee on that device, then sign in the way you did the first time. Your songs, minutes and Plus stay with the original account. An empty extra account can be deleted from its Settings.

Minutes and Plus

What are listening minutes?

Minutes are spent only when Bandee studies a recording it hasn't heard before, and the cost is simply the length of the song. Playing songs, editing charts, building setlists, and using everything your band shares never spends a minute.

What do I get for free?

More than most apps give away. Every new account starts with welcome minutes to chart its first songs, and after that free keeps 5 songs of your own in the cloud. If you subscribe before they are used up, the rest come with you: they are banked, spent after your monthly minutes, and never expire.

Nothing is switched off on those songs. You get the whole app: separated parts to mute and solo, the section chart with bar counts, lyrics, key and tempo, transpose, loops and click. You can join bands, follow setlists, chat with your team, add your songs to a setlist, and play and study everything your bandmates share — no limit and no minutes spent. Songs downloaded to your phone keep working offline.

Free and Plus are the same app; the difference is how much of it you can stock up. Plus adds 60 minutes a month and an unlimited cloud library — and if you just want to chart one more song, anyone can buy minutes without subscribing.

What does Bandee Plus add?

60 listening minutes every month and an unlimited cloud library — one simple monthly price, shown on the upgrade screen for your region.

I ran out of minutes mid-month — what now?

Buy a top-up: 15 minutes for a couple of songs, or 60 minutes for the price of a month of Plus. Anyone can buy them — you don't need a subscription — and they never expire.

Do the minutes I buy expire?

No. Minutes you buy are banked to your account and stay there until you use them. Your monthly minutes are always spent first, so a top-up is only touched once this month's allowance is gone.

Will I be charged again to re-chart or re-download a song?

No. Once Bandee has studied one of your songs, it stays yours — bringing it to a new phone or re-charting it in a different meter is free.

If I delete a song, do I get its minutes back?

No. Minutes are spent when Bandee studies the recording, and that work is already done, so deleting the song afterwards cannot return them. If you only need space on your phone, use Remove download instead: the song stays in your library and comes back free any time. Delete from library is the one that lets a song go, and adding it back later costs its minutes again.

Bands and setlists

Does everyone in my band need Plus?

No. In most bands one person — usually the leader — charts the songs, and everyone else uses the shared songs completely free: playing parts, reading charts, following setlists.

How do invites work?

Share your band's invite link from the band screen. Links stay valid for 30 days; if one has expired, just share a fresh one.

What's a setlist?

A shared, ordered list of songs for a service or practice, with its own chat thread. Everyone opens the same chart — edits and all — so the whole band is reading the same page.

Can other members add songs, or only the leader?

Anyone in the setlist can add songs from their own library. A setlist is built by the band, not handed down: the keys player can drop in the song they found, the drummer can add next week's, and whoever adds a song looks after it — they can edit or remove their own, and it stays in everyone else's setlist to open and play.

You don't need Plus to take part. A free member can add from the 5 songs on their shelf, and everyone — free or Plus — can open, play and study everything the band shares without spending a single minute. That's the point of a band: one person charts a song, and the whole team gets it.

Privacy

Is my audio private?

Yes. Songs you add are private to your account and the bands you choose to share them with. The original file you upload is deleted as soon as Bandee finishes listening — only the studied parts your chart needs are kept. The details are in the privacy policy.

Can I delete my account?

Yes, right in the app: Settings → Delete Account. It removes your account and your songs. There's also a web path if you no longer have the app.

Troubleshooting

A song is playing but I can't hear anything.

Nine times out of ten, the phone is on silent. On iPhone, turn off Silent mode — the switch on the side, or Control Center on models with the Action button; Bandee also shows a notice above the player when it detects this. On Android, press volume-up while the song plays and make sure the Media slider isn't at zero. Still quiet? Check whether the audio went to Bluetooth earbuds in another room.

The chart doesn't match how we play it.

Bandee's chart is a first draft, not a verdict. Everything is editable: tap a section to rename it, long-press to split it, drag one section onto another to combine them. Your edits are saved with the song — and in a setlist, the whole band sees them.

The lyrics are wrong or missing.

Lyrics arrive shortly after the chart, while Bandee keeps listening in the background. You can edit any line inline — and confirming the song's title and artist helps accuracy a lot.
